Nepal Photography Tour
One of the most diverse and challenging tours I have ever organised, this non-trekking adventure gets up close and personal with holy men of Kathmandu, takes travellers into the pure air of the Annapurnas and rolls through the dusty streets of Newari villages in Kathmandu Valley. Sultry sadus, scenic mountains and the noble Newari.
Camping with the Llamas
The Lares Trail is the most recent alternative to the Inca Trail, taking in the scenic altitudes north of Olantaytambo. It doesn't walk you into Machu Picchu with dawn views of the Sun Gate, but it does get you amongst the rugged ranges of the Andes to meet remote villagers and their farms. Trekkers can expect all the llamas you could ever want and maybe a few you didn't.
Photography That Loves You Back
It can sound so cliche when people talk of how their time in Nepal has “changed their lives”. But I cannot think of any photographer who visited the Himalayas and didn’t return home renewed with inspiration for their craft and humanity itself.
Shooting Sunrise at Meili Xue Shan
Iconic mountains capped with snow and untamed by man. Of all the legends that circulate around the newly named Shangri-La county, the "Snow Mountains" known simply as Mei Li are easily the most convincing. Majestic peaks alter the weather and thrill the crowds. There are no certainties about getting clear skies for sunrise, but true landscape photographers are a patient lot anyway.
Yunnan Beyond the Yaks
China's increasing middle-class growth is putting pressure on the traditional flavour of tourism across the country. In Yunnan there are still plenty of gems to be discovered, but expect to dig a little deeper to find them.
